ROME, September 29 - The International Festival of Historic Music and Polyphony (Festival Internazionale di Polifonia e Musica Antica) arrives in Palestrina, the town of music, from Tuesday October 3 to Sunday October 8. The event is organized by the town council and the Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina foundation in collaboration with Colline Romane. It will play host to 12 international choirs, including the choirs of Frankfurt and Warsaw, alongside the choir of the town of Palestrina and the Praenestines Voces. The music festival was inaugurated by an exhibition at Palestrina's Casa Natale entitled Preneste Ieri & Oggi (Palestrina, yesterday and today) featuring the drawings and oil paintings of Giulio de Angelis. The festival will take place mainly at the beautiful Sant'Agapito cathedral. There will be a meeting at 10-30am on Sunday at the Auditorium Pierluigi to discuss the holy music of the Renaissance, which Palestrina was undoubtedly a protagonist of. All of the concerts are free.
